TANIA DE SOUSA
‘TANIATANK’ is the first solo album that the singer Tania De Sousa (The Dispositives, Zuloak…) has recorded during the month of May and June 2014 in the Bonberenea studio (Tolosa) by Karlos Osinaga ‘Txap’ as technical engineer and produced by Fermin Muguruza. Twelve songs with predominant pop melodies characterize this first work of the artist. We find more punk-rock cuts, ballads, folk and even disco touches that are woven together obtaining a certain homogeneity. Tania sounds the same and different in equal parts in each of the songs, maintaining the same direction in the lyrics where the themes of love/heartbreak and personal introspective predominate. Although she has launched solo, she is supported by a band of friends: Fermín Bouza (Gitarra, choirs and synthesizers), Maitane Alonso (Bass) and Ander del Sol (Drums). There has also been no shortage of guest artists on this album who have left their mark on different cuts: Maite Mursego, Koldo Soret (Surfin Kaos, Niña Coyote eta Chico Tornado), Fermin Muguruza’s wind section: Lonbi, Igor Fino y Jontron, Xabi Solano (Esne Beltza) and Mikel Azpiroz (Elkano Browning Cream). With this range of personalities that permeate the album, a choral work is obtained that enriches the sound with surprising results. Tania and her band will embark on an extensive tour to present these songs. They premiered live, arousing great expectations when they opened the concert that Manu Chao gave on July 9 on the Zurriola beach in Donostia, and from September onwards they will hit the ground running and never stop.
