Joxe Ripiau is a band founded in 1996 by musicians Iñigo Muguruza (Kortatu, Delirium Tremens, Negu Gorriak), Sergio Ordoñez (Esne Beltza, Patxuko Nice) and Iñigo’s brother, Jabier Muguruza. Later trombonist Asier Ituarte joined them. Following the example of the groups of the Dominican Republic Perico Ripiao, Joxe Ripiau worked on Caribbean dance music in four albums. It dissolved in 2000, and Iñigo Muguruza created Sagarroi.
